Empower Caregivers, embrace community

A Call to Hearts and Hands

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
—1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Makers of Care transforms & empowers Caregivers, rekindles human value, and ignites HOPE

Will you be my neighbor?

Our very first FRIENDRAISER (more on what this is below) was a Tea Party and a HUGE success! It was also a reminder of how pervasive the caregiving crisis is; out of the 17 attendees, ALL but one had either received care or been a Caregiver. Two of them were even Caregivers while in their twenties.

The caregiving crisis is affecting us all (or it will), especially considering the high divorce rate in our culture. There are no longer spouses caring for spouses; caregiving is frequently falling to adult children as they become the sole Caregivers of their parents.

What is a FRIENDRAISER?

It’s about embracing the power of informed giving. It’s not your typical fundraiser. The purpose of our time is to raise awareness and enthusiasm for Makers of Care and create a space for Caregivers to tell you their story.

How we care for aging parents and seriously ill loved ones is drastically changing and the resources are quickly disappearing due to the changing cultural landscape. Humans are at risk of becoming disposable and those caring for them are overwhelmed and facing burnout. We want to change that!

You need to be informed so you and your family can have the vital support that all of us deserve—even as we age, receive serious diagnoses, or have a disability

What's next?

As we embark on this mission of transforming caregiving across the nation, we cannot do it alone! Your partnership can make a BIG impact on our ability to serve families in crisis.

We are a small but mighty team and our biggest needs right now are TIME and MONEY.

Do you have FUNDS to support Caregivers? Become a monthly donor or make a one time donation. Gifts of every size are welcome.
Interested in hosting your own FRIENDRAISER? Reply to this email and we can talk through the details. It can be as big or intimate as you'd like and is a wonderful way to raise AWARENESS and SUPPORT for Makers of Care.

Dear Reader, We launched our blog and have curated a group of writers to bless you with their stories about resilience and faith. Enjoy! I remember the night that my prayer for my mom changed from pleading for her healing to pleading for comfort and an easy death. My optimism could no longer create a convincing alternative reality to shelter in. She would not get better. My story is not unique. Caregivers of all kinds can relate to this moment: the moment a spouse loses the ability to speak,...

We've got some incredible events coming up, and we'd love for you to join us! 1) New Faith-Based Support Group in Queen Creek We're thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new Makers of Care support group in Queen Creek (for women only), led by Pam Kavathas! Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?—Isaiah 43:19 Dear Friends, As I write this, I’m eagerly awaiting the birth of my daughter’s twins tomorrow. New life is such a beautiful reminder of God’s grace and the fresh starts He gives us. This season of anticipation has me reflecting on the incredible growth we’ve experienced at Makers of Care, and I’m filled with gratitude for the community that makes this possible. Your support has been the heartbeat of our...
